This is a beautiful book, meticulously researched. It's a must for the lover of local New Jersey histories. The author has provided many scenes and vignettes of this small New Jersey town at the turn of the century, and you can truly see what life was like in a rural NJ town, before urban and suburban sprawl. Truly nicely done!

For former West Milfordians like myself, what I learned from this book was almost entirely new things. Concentrating on West Milford's turn-of-the-Century (i.e., 19th into the 20th) past, the rustic nature of this most beautiful Township is highlighted. I'm hoping someone will write a follow-up, taking West Milford's history up to the turn of the 20th into the 21st Century.

Being originally from West Milford, this book showed me what it was long, LONG before I lived there. A truly interesting book filled with pictures of places I see on a regular basis when I'm home and some places which I will never see.
