only toy to ever survive!,
By Harley Girl (Ham Lake, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: West Paw Design Zogoflex® Dog Toy, Hurley, Large (Colors Vary) (Misc.)
This is the ONLY toy my rottweiler has ever had that has survived his wrath! If you spend loads of money on the so called "durable" dog toys meant for "aggressive chewers" and the toy lasts 10 minutes, then THIS is the toy for your dog!! Dogs can chew forever on it without destroying a thing....highly recommended for "destructive dogs...!"

A Kid's Review

Indestructible no, but they do last longer then any other toys we have gotten. We bought all three, the Huck, Hurley and the Tux. The Tux is the only one that is left.
THIS ONE WAS HIS FAVORITE BUT IT DIDNT LAST LONG This might not be the case for your dog, it's not like it's poor or weak or anything, it's just that Milo really really chewed this toy like crazy. HE LOVED IT. The Hurley (stick) lasted a few days as he was chewing on it for hours and hours and he simply LOVED IT. That was his favorite. He split it in the middle and we had to take it away only after a few days. After splitting the Hurley, it didn't take him long to move onto the Huck. The Huck lasted a few WEEKS but then once he started getting into it, we had to take it away. Milo (1 year yellow lab) started getting it apart and then the rest came apart in chunks kinda fast. This did last WEEKS tho. Unfortunately it's just a little to heavy to toss in the house. It's more a chew toy then a throwing ball. The tux, somehow someway is still going strong and it seems that because we fill it with peanut butter, he does not want to destroy it so we dont take it away :) He chews it all the time but not with the same ferociousness that he does the others. I called the company 3 separate times to check on this "no questions asked replacement warranty" Holy crap they aren't kidding. The customer service people pick up so fast and they are INCREDIBLY pleasant. You get a one time replacement of any/each toy. So I bought all three and they will replace all three one time. They also assured me that the toys are non toxic and it's ok if they do ingest a little bit of the "special composition material". For the money these are the best toys we have ever bought. I will buy another set this Christmas to keep the Milo man busy :)

In my opinion and my dog, Dylan's, this is the only line of toys that are virtually indestructible. He has been chewing on the same pink bone for 6 years now and knows it by name. He LOVES it. Thats why we bought several more in the series.

One Day With a 60lb Dog,
This review is from: West Paw Design Zogoflex® Dog Toy, Hurley, Large (Colors Vary) (Misc.)
I have a 60-ish pound Lab/Pointer mix I would describe as an aggressive chewer. (Thankfully, he doesn't show any interest in furniture and we've only lost one pair of shoes.)
I ordered this bone as an alternative to the Nylabone products because I thought it would be better for the flooring. Within the first hour, I noticed a large chunk of the Hurley bone lying beside him as he chewed. Within a few more, he had shredded one end. I don't want a replacement (which Hurley says is free for the first destroyed toy--shoulda taken that as a hint); I want my money back. The large Planet Orbee balls have lasted several months, now. I'll buy more of those when needed.

Owner of a Professional Toy Destroyer,

I am the owner of 2 large dogs. The first dog is very hard on toys, the second dog, there are no words to describe what he does to toys. If I gave him the opportunity and enough time, he could eat my entire couch. With that said, I received this toy in the mail today and gave it to them immediately. 20 minutes later, the toy was still intact. If you have dogs that destroy everything, then you understand that if 20 minutes goes by, and the toy is still in one piece, then it is a good toy. The toy has survived the last 5 hours with both dogs taking turns chewing it. I read the reviews before I bought this and was thinking "it's worth a try, but I highly doubt that my dogs will not be able to destroy this in 5 minutes," I was wrong. This is a very durable toy, it is really hard to find a toy like this, so I suggest that you buy this one.

My pit bull destroys everything I ever give him. He ate through West Paw's tux ball, which I was still pretty pleased with, as it lasted more than the 5-15 minutes I expect a Kong to last. This bone is incredible. He has been able to rip small chunks off the sides, but overall chewing this bone to pieces has been wholly unsuccessful. He chews it every day and loves it, and I have to buy more sooner than later. This is GREAT for outrageously aggressive dogs with giant teeth who just want to rip their toys to shreds. It does not SOUND pleasant when they are chewing on it, but the material is perfect for aggressive chewers.

Got this for my doberman, he chewed on it for a day and had it ripped in half! The great thing is this company will replace the toy 1 time, at no cost. I am hoping i just got a bad one the 1st go around. My dogs other hurley toy is the best!

I have 2 German Shepherds and they are big chewers. My oldest (4) was able to get the ends off within 48 hours of receiving the product. I will say that I liked that it took him that long. Usually its within a couple of hours. My dogs loved them. Wish I could find something that they wouldn't be able to chew apart.

High hopes shattered in 2 hours :(,

My 1 year old Pit Bull/Boxer mix (75 lbs & still growing) is super active, usually content with single toys for long periods, but quickly destroys pretty much everything we give him. After reading numerous reviews, comparing product options and shopping around, I ordered this with very high hopes that maybe we had finally found something that could withstand his jaws and paws... plus, the fact that it comes with a "guarantee" didn't hurt either.Immediately out of the box, he loved this toy - we played fetch, he tried to play tug-o-war with our 7-year old female Pit Bull, and then he settled down to start chewing on it like it was a bone, with no immediate signs of wear and tear. My fiance and I were high-fiving each other thinking finally we had found something that could last (we've spent hundreds on toys that last minutes, hours, or at most, a month)... And we were mistaken. Only 2 hours after initially giving him the Hurley, we noticed it had begun to crack in the center and a couple of tiny pieces had begun to flake off :( So much for those high hopes! Sadly, we'll be exercising the "guarantee" and sending this one back. On a side note, I ordered another toy made by the same company (West Paw Design) called a Tux, and it seems to be holding up much better... I swear my dog should be a tester for these things! |
