I purchased this Zogoflex mainly to round-out my Amazon order of dog discs. The rest of my 'flying disc' order was for my 'real' Frisbee retriever (a big male) with a penchant for hard frenzied chewing between retrieves... well, so much for the myth of the retriever 'soft-mouth'. However I do have another retriever (smaller female) with a very soft-mouth who will not even catch the harder Frisbees... it was her that I had in mind when I purchased this Zogoflex as its description lead me to believe it was very soft and rubbery. My other dog has shredded other 'rubber' discs in mere seconds and so my intention was to not let him get a hold of the Zogoflex (foolish concept, don't know what I was thinking really). Well, after I got the order in we went out to the park where I decided to 'save' the Zogoflex while we played with the other harder and purported indestructible disc. Over the course of the next couple of weeks the disc-chewing crazy male was actually able to first deformed (he favors bending it over in a taco shape on the return... not an easy thing for a dog to do with a hard disc) and eventually he sliced into the edge in several places making it, in my estimation, too dangerous for him to catch (as in cutting his lip by the spinning sharp edges). So I started him out a second hard disc (as I had anticipated this and bought several) and decided to finally try this Zogoflex out with the soft-mouthed, gentle retrieving female. As was inevitable, eventually the male got to the Zogoflex before the female and began wailing away on it with frenetic chewing... I was sure it would be destroyed or at least cut before I could rescue it..... Nope, when I got there it was apparent he was unable to do any damage what-so-ever to this rubber disc. So I decided to let him have his way with it and we've been using it regularly for his retrieves and now after two weeks of hours-long sessions of retrieving nearly everyday its still managed to not sustain any kind of damage at all. I'm shocked but I'm now also a believer, this disc is truly the once fabled indestrutible disc of lore. Tonight I decided to do a review here just before I order a couple more of these to have one available for the female retriever as the male just dominates this one, single Zogoflex we have now. So after 5 years of buying almost every type of flying disc toy in search of the indestructible flying disc I believe I've finally found it... a truly Indestructible Flying Disc. This one is it!!! BTW, it flies about as good as any other flying disc... a little on the heavy side but the thicker lip of the Zogoflex catches more air for a decent amount of 'hang-time' if thrown level... if you throw it high, it will drop out of the air faster. Careful though since the heavier material used in the Zogoflex doesn't allow it to float in water... it sinks slowly but nevertheless it does sink. My big retriever will go diving for it, but most dogs will not, so if it goes into the water it will sink to the bottom unless you go get it.
Also, if you are looking for an indestructible 'tennis' ball, get the Ultra-Ball by those people that make the Chuck-Its, its really worth the high asking price because not only is it soft, high-bouncing, and floats but it, like the Zogoflex, is absolutely indestructible with the extra-big bonus of being non-abrasive on your dog's canines (you know? those four fangs that hold the ball in your dog's mouth during the retrieve). Now go have some fun with your dog!!!!
