BEAUTIFUL!, December 9, 2005
This review is from: West Point Stevens Rockport Full Bed in a Bag (Kitchen)
I bought is "Bed in a Bag" set for my Son and his Girlfriend for Christmas. I opened the box when it came in. I keep telling my husband that I want to keep it. The picture does not do this justice! It is really beautiful! I do want to keep it. However, I will give it to them for Christmas:)

Pros and cons and WHY I bought this and was DELIGHTED with it!, March 7, 2006
This review is from: West Point Stevens Rockport Full Bed in a Bag (Kitchen)
First off, this is an absolutely incredible VALUE. No question about that. Try to find a complete bed set for less....pretty hard to do. Just don't expect the feel of an expensive, high thread count set.
HERE IS WHY I BOUGHT MINE: We were about to sell our house. We'd decluttered, had every wall painted and the guest bedroom had a blue wall, making this bedding a perfect fit. Our usual bedding for that room was looking a bit tired, as most bedding does over time. It looked particularly old compared to the freshly painted walls.
I realized that nice, new bedding would certainly compliment those newly painted walls. So, for a very low price, I got a bedding set that looked fabulous, getting raves from visitors (the house sold quickly too... or was that just a coincidence?).
The set does has a nice, classic look to it and blue is, of course a most restful color. This would be ideal in a boy's bedroom, too. It even has a dust ruffle, although it is not at all "ruffly". It is not feminine, just adds a nice finishing touch.
NOW FOR THE DOWNSIDE: The comforter is not soft. My boys actually didin't mind this but some people might. I would even venture to say it is on the rough side, as are the pillowcases and the pillow shams. For everyday use, we put a nice, high thread count sheet between comforter and body. Problem solved. We don't use the pillowcases, except to "dress" the bed when it is not being used. When guests come, we provide different cases.
But don't let that keep you from purchasing this set. If you are going for a nice, crisp look, the fabric holds its edge well and you get a very straight, wrinkle-free look. It makes the bed look unused in between visits. It makes the room look "dressed". Reason enough to have on hand.
IN REAL LIFE, you are, of course, going to want to use your bedding. But if you have a spare guest room that you want to look nice and neat in between occasional visits by guests...or you want to sell your home and have a room look updated...I'd suggest an investment in this set. For a low price, you get a very nice look.
Oh, yes, for this price, you could also take the pillowcases and use them as window valences. So for the price of a complete bedset, you could mix and match pillowcases and pillows and come up with a coordinated room. After all, who is going to care about how a valence feels? It is the look that counts and the crisp, straight edges are an advantage there!
