We expect we will love this every bit as much.

On Star and GPS are great for directions while traveling, but for planning and those little unmarked roads and trails the Atlas & Gazeteer is best.

Love having all the backroads, small unincorporated communities, and natural attractions included!

I bought the Atlas and Gazetter for WV and MD. These books are essential equipment for getting out and enjoying the back roads. The topo info tells you if it will be flat and sunny or hilly and shady. I am really impressed with the detail of the maps. If they could make it in a water proof edition it would be perfect.

I bought this West Virginia Map and Gazetteer in order to help my husband and I find our way through WV. We're most interested in the topography - elevations, rivers, creeks, etc. I would recommend using this book map in conjunction with a regular road map, because there isn't quite enough detail for smaller roads, but it's a great place to start.

We have Gazetteers for various states and can't wait to really use this one! We expect we will love this every bit as much. These can't be beat, especially when encountering a detour!

This atlas lets you really get into the mountaineer state and find every delicious backroad. There are too many to list in West Virginia, but just make sure your vehicle is capable of handling the dirt roads and such, because the fun often begins where the blacktop ends!

I research West Virginia Coal towns and after about 8 years, and ~130 coal towns later, I thougt, why not get a copy of this and have it in the car?

Pros and Cons:

1)This is a superb map that lists some rather remote towns and I was to say the least impressed by its depth of town and place name listings

2)It is alo NICE to have these some remote places on a singular map, that is cogent because not so many years ago, it was almost miraculaous to have a road map with this ammount of detail. My past practices relied in topo maps from the 30's and alot of talking to total strangers which was fun

3)This is also an excellent supplement to a GPS. This is of course a big change for me, as little as 5 years agho, I did not use GPS at all. It was point of fact USELESS in some more remote southern portions of WV, specifically MscDowell, Raleigh and Mercer Counties. Thats has changed and so, bam, great purchase

4)I bought used, the product is perfect, no issues at all, getting this new, to be honest, would be a waste as a used sopy in decent condition will do the job for certain

This book provides complete and thurough topographical maps for the entire state of West Virginia. If you enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, exploring in this great state, you need this atlas. At first I was surprised at the details provided in this book. I was able to find even the smallest of streams and geographical features. Now, after using it so many times, I would be surprised if a stream is not on this map.

The bottom line is that you need this atlas if you enjoy the West Virginia outdoors.

This atlas fills a void because it gives a very clear picture of the terrain as well as roads. I like having these atlases along to give the context for hiking excursions, as well as showing the back road ways to get there. The section on special sights to see in WV is very helpful as well. There is no substitute for more detailed topographical maps for actual hiking trails, but this atlas is a necessart intermediate step between topos and road maps.

Like other Delorme atlases, this is nicely detailed - though like other atlas, it can be annoying to use when you have to move from one page to another to follow a route. We also purchased (on Amazon) a Martinsburg - Charles Town - Eastern West Virginia road map that would be a better choice if you are looking for something to use while driving around Eastern West Virginia.
