Jeff Cook earned a Ph.D. in American History from West Virginia University. He is the author of two books: Harry S. Truman: Continuity and Change and the Dictionary of Literary Biography: American World War II Correspondents. He has also contributed articles to several books on modern American political, business, and economic history. He is currently coauthoring a United States History survey text (under contract with American Public University) and a fourth book on Aretas Brooks Fleming, the reluctant reformer who pushed the establishment of the United States Bureau of Mines in 1910 (West Virginia University Press
In addition to his research, Cook has received a number of fellowships and grants to facilitate a very heavy research schedule. He lives in South Carolina with his wife and four daughters where he teaches at North Greenville University and operates a very successful small business.
