This review is from: West Virginia's Coal and Coke Railroad: A B&O Predecessor (Hardcover)
The Coal and Coke Railway has not been given enough appearance in books or web-sites or photographs, considering its role in shaping the development of central West Virginia's natural resources. The book is an exhaustive narrative of the history and dealings of the railroad, its predecessors, and some of the land dealings. There are many fantastic photographs and drawings. My only downer for the book is that because it is so extensive in its writing that the book can be hard to follow as the dates frequently jump around to keep a particular sub-topic going. A timeline or perhaps sub-topic headings might be easier for the eyes. A must read for any Mountain State railroad enthusiast.
