I selected this timer to replace an Intermatic timer, which was not operating correctly after about 15 years. The Westek is similar to the Intermatic in terms of operation and installation, but offers a 'self programming' feature which was appealing. I could not get the Westek timer to operate according to the instructions. After more than an hour trying to operate this timer, I finally reinstalled the old Intermatic timer, which started working properly again (and is easy to program). I cannot recommend purchasing the Westek timer; save yourself a lot of aggravation and get the Intermatic.
Like the other reviewer, I've spent an hour with this Westek timer and I cannot program it. I also have an Intermatic timer on another circuit, and have no problem with its programming. It seems to me that somehow the 24-hr programming feature of the Westek is in conflict with the rapid programming instruction. I hate to spend the time and it's a nuisance, but I think the Westek has to come out and I'll get a different timer. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this product.
