Gloves are Great! Hat is Dangerous..., January 13, 2009

These gloves are the perfect fit for my 3-year old. Other "toddler" gloves that we purchased at high-end stores like REI were just too big for my little guy's hands. These aren't the warmest gloves out there, since they're just knit, but, with their sticky grip dog faces, they're perfect for preschool recess on the playground here in DC (30s and 40s but no snow). The hat on the other hand..... It has a long (about a foot long) tail sewn into the back of the hat. Fine for walks outdoors, but not for the playground where the tail could get caught in a swing etc. Kids should never wear stuff like that around playground equipment. Too bad it isn't buttoned in so it could be removed and inserted as desired. As is, I'm left with the choice of either cutting it out or not using it. Wish I could've found the gloves separate from the hat/glove package!
