Easy book to read December 10, 2006

My professor recommended this book to me because I hated the book that the school uses for Western Civ... this book is easy to read and understand I highly recommend it.

Perry is an excellent writer and a great historian. Though a textbook, this book reads smoothly. I find it not only informative, but also very interesting. It has motivated me to pursue some of his suggested reading.
