It would have been nice for this book to have page numbers. Hard to go to the page my professor tells us to go to when I only have locations. Would also be nice if with the Kindle PC App we could zoom into the pictures and maps and have them nice and clear. Other than that it is very nice.

What can I say? It's a required textbook that arrived to my son's college mailbox in good order and in time for his classes. I'm satisfied, he's satisfied. I hope it'll help him in his pursuit of good grades.

I needed this text book for one of my classes and the author has made this subject very interesting. His writing style is simple enough for a high schooler to understand.

New book - Great service. This was a required school book. Was less expensive than the bookstore. Came quickly in new condition. Thank you!

Lavishly illustrated with many colour maps and photos of ancient items, the book strives to hold the reader's attention. Not that the text is neglected, of course. The authors explain in straightforward fashion the development of the ancient civilisations of the Middle East and Europe.
We see the rise of Greece and Rome, in more detail than the descriptions of Mesopotamia or Egypt. But in the limited space available, perhaps this was inevitable. The later chapters focus on western and southern Europe. Relatively little discussion of Moscovy or indeed eastern Europe in general.

textbook came in new condition, what they fail to mention is that there is NO mapbook shrinkwrapped with it. check with your school before you buy this this make sure you don't need the workbook for class (my teacher actually assigns work out of it). If you just need the textbook then this is a great deal though.
