5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Dead silent. Have had it for a month so far, moderate use, still quiet and works perfectly. Tiny blue light on the front to indicate it is connected. Exactly like the WD passport drives, just looks different.
Rubber on the ends is removable if you so choose.
Included USB cable in 11 inches long.
It is much smaller than it looks, 5in x 3in x 1/2in...

2.0 out of 5 stars Click click, it's dead
lasted about 2 years. now makes the Click of Death. if you have anything important, back it up to 2 drives or get a raid solution. I have a box of dead hard drives. Western Digital WD Elements 400 GB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive WDE1U4000N (Silver)
I am moving to raid class drives and data mirroring.

1.0 out of 5 stars click, click...dead, August 14, 2010
This review is from: Western Digital Elements 400 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive (Black) (Personal Computers)
I bought two of these to swap out for my nightly backups at home (keeping 1 on-site and 1 off-site). They worked great for a few months, but then they were suddenly unrecognized by my PC (Win7 x64). At first, I could reconnect them and re-format them. Since I had two backups, it wasn't that big of a deal...more of an irritant. Then, a few weeks later I got the clicking sounds and was unable to reconnect either one of them at all. At this point, they're a complete waste of money. I've tried at least a half dozen times to get them working again, but to no avail.
