If Suzanne Vega and Springsteen met in a bar, got drunk, went to the motel next door, had relations and conceived a baby and that baby landed in a foster home, with a Dad who listened to R.E.M. and a Mom who loved Dylan and that kid grew up to sing and play in an alt-country/folk rock band - well, that's American Mars to me.
Very surprised no one besides little ole me has written anything here. I can easily imagine riding around aimless on a cool summer night listening to these tracks, with the windows down on a wide open two laner illuminated by headlights and a full moon.
