If you are and old fan to Western Swing or a new one. I would deffinately say GET THIS FOR SURE. It covers all of the different areas of Texas Swing Music, gives a sampling of the many different variations of this great music style. It will be a well played CD for certain.

Wow, what can I say. The quality is outstanding and the "Origin Jazz Library" know exactly what they are doing, and they do it good!
This is history in the first degree, read it all in the excellent booklet written by Cary Ginell! Love his writing style! Music is great and the story is misery. Is Leon Chappelear the first musician whose career is badly effected by a car accident? Others who died or the career was badly effected after a car accident are Milton Brown, Carl Perkins , Eddy Cochran just to mention a few. This series is fantastic, hope that " Origin Jazz Library" will bring out many great CD's in the near future, can't wait! This is Leon at his best in the 1930's. (You may also want to check out his work from the 1950's on a Bear Family CD as "Leon Chappel") Buy this OJL-CD and let it play and play..... |
