My Favorite LeDoux CD,
By A Customer
This review is from: Western Underground (Audio CD)
This is Chris LeDoux at his best in my opinion! Next to the box set it doesn't get any better than this. This CD was my introduction to LeDoux and it still is my favorite!

Great accessible Chris Ledoux album,

This was my first Chris Ledoux album, and I love it. Chris has a very comfortable and friendly voice (strangely, he kind of reminds me of the old Wonderful World of Disney narrator voice from long ago) and these are a nice set of songs. They are simple but solid songs and some of them really stick with me. I love County Fair, Cadillac Cowboy, This Cowboy's Hat, and I also really like The Last Drive-In, Yellow Brick Road Turns Blue, Riding for a Fall, and Workin' Man's Dollar. That's a lot of good songs for one album, so I recommend this one. It's one of my favorite CD's.

If you aren't familiar with Chris LeDoux, this is an excellent place to start. This is western music -- not Nashville, but Wyoming. Every song is good -- and Chris's voice is at its peak. This CD is never far from my reach. "Workin' Man's Dollar," "This Cowboy's Hat," "The Last Drive-In," I think I've heard them a thousand times and I still love them.

His first commercial CD,
This review is from: Western Underground (Audio CD)
After putting out many great albums on his own, "Western Underground" was Chris' first record on a major label. And what a fine CD it is; it's true to his tradition of singing about the West (unfortunately, later Capitol/Liberty CDs had Chris singing songs that didn't adhere to his Western roots). "Riding For A Fall" is probably my favorite LeDoux song of all time; anyone with regrets about his or her life will relate to this song.
