Telegram for America is a promotional documentary for the Western Union Telegraph Company that shows how the telegraph helped shape Western Expansion, played a pivotal role in the financial markets, and helped develop new communications technology. The film has great scenes of 1950's era teletype, teleprinter, and telegraph equipment. Scenes of business people, workers, and Western Union plants and microwave towers abound. The new technology featured includes facsimile machines and a mobile reception center called the Telmobile.
