If yer looking fer a dog to kick cuz your friend got his neck streched by some pepper gut sheep dippers this book is fer you. If not then you probably don't have enough guts to make a string of ghost cord and you better look over your shoulder or someone will make wolves meat of you.

Western history books, novels, and movies (see TNT's "Purgatory") are becoming more "accurate" with the language that was used during the great cowboy era of the US. This book will help you with that terminology. Ramon F. Adams was one of the great historians of this period. His "Burs Under the Saddle" and "More Burs Under the Saddle" should be mandatory reading for those studying this period in our history.

If you are an author writing Westerns you need this book. It will save you in many ways. It answers all your questions on what words to use.

Masterfully done. I could not live with out this book.

This book needs a revised edition with a synonymised index! I would buy it again in a heartbeat and be willing to pay 50% more if only this book had an index. Otherwise this one of a kind resource is terrific and a great resource to writers and researchers and Western literature and movie buffs.

This is a really great book if your collecting western items and or your just western right when you came out of your mothers womb.. I love this book and i have a few already built up, so this is one that your going to want to keep for a long time and perhaps pass it down to someone you are close to like a son/step son/daughter step daughter or anyone who loves The True Lingo of being a True Buckaroo....
