The Westin 27-6000 light kit is functional and provides a couple of 12" spot lighting along the running board. It does not light up the entire length of the board, but where your foot would step with the proper placement. The installation of the wiring is the real test of whether you are an advanced "do it yourselfer". On my 2010 Tundra, I chose to try and get the lights to light up with the interior convenience lights when you push the unlock button on the remote. After a lot of internet searching, I found the answer on where to tap into the wiring. Every maker will have a different answer. The instruction sheets are vague other than a very basic solution. I imagine these lights get returned by lots of frustrated self installers. My suggestion is this, research the installation wiring for your truck before you buy something like this. There are various answers depending on the make of your vehicle. For the Toyota Tundra, I found the answer at Tundra Solutions.

I purchased my Westin running boards approximately 2 years ago but I had one light go bad and unfortunately I was unable to just get one replacement and had to get the whole kit with all the wiring and four lights hopefully I will not have anymore problems if so I still have three spares. I like the lights but Westin should make available replacement lights without having to purchase the entire kit. As far as the seller and Amazon I rate them 5 stars. I gave this item 3 stars only because Westin does not sell one replacement you have to buy this light kit if you have a light go bad.
