When we first had to replace the light bulbs in our ceiling fan, we didn't realize there were different types of bulbs, and our replacements did not last long at all. These light bulbs really do make a difference - somehow they are made to be resistant to the movement bulbs experience when mounted on a ceiling fan. Definitely worth the somewhat higher price to have a much longer life.
