Product Description

Westinghouse Light Bulb Base/Socket Enlarger - Candelabra Screw (E12) to Medium Screw (E26)

Customer Reviews

A well-made adaptor that allows a regular size bulb to be utilized in a "christmas tree" size socket.
Clarence W. Ludwigsen
The bottom of the housing is flat metal and the candelabra screw portion is TOO SHORT to make a good connection in the socket.
C. Turner
Replaced the candelabra bulbs in ceiling fan using the adapters, screwed in new cfl bulbs and have much more light!

I got 2 (for $2.25 each) of these for my candelabra lights and those on the fan.
Put one each on them. Now I am able to plug-in my favorite 14W CFL's on them.

The cardboard doesn't get warm at all during usage. I checked it multiple times (after 5hrs of continuous usage).
If you don't remove it regularly, this is a good product.

I am planning to buy couple more.

Bought these to convert the crazy candelabra sockets in my ceiling fan that only supported 40 watt bulbs. 120 watts for an overhead light?! Installed these, and then put in 3 - 26 watt CFL's. That gives me the equiv of 300 watts of lighting for only 78 watts. Amazing! Love it! Great little invention here! I'm using less power, and getting more light!

While I'm not sold on the use of cardboard the real reason for my lowly rating of this product is that the base is too short for some fittings.

The result is that power is not provided to the bulb.

Yes, others mentioned this in the review and yes, I was forewarned. At the price it was worth a try but I simply cannot recommend this adapter.

Good idea! But the base is too short and does not make contact when your screw it in. This problem could be dependent on your application. I was simply trying to convert my lamp from candelabra base to E26 base so I could use a brighter CFL. Maybe your lamp would be different. But it did not work for me...

In all of the candelabra sockets I have, the metal working part is recessed about 1/8 inch below the lip of the socket. These adapters simply won't fit. Before buying these (or any of the lookalikes on Amazon) look at the socket and make sure that the metal part is more-or-less flush with the lip of the socket. If it's recessed at all, these adapters just won't work, and there are no modifications that solve this particular problem.

works as you would expect. i neede to put a standard cfl type bulb into a fan that only took candelabra fitment. this has been working now for 6 months. love it but for some reason 100watt cfl wouldent work in it they cept burning out but the 75 watt cfl works just fine.

This little item is the perfect solution to a problem I had with a buffet lamp. I purchased this lamp in a closeout situation but once I had it home, I realized the socket and shade lyre were slightly bent. When I tried to straighted them, the lyre broke. The only way I could think of to get a shade on the lamp was to use the type that clips onto a standard bulb but this lamp used a candleabra bulb, so this adapter allowed me to change the type of bulb the lamp uses!
