This review is from: Westinghouse #66200 2 Light SQ Ceiling Fixture (Tools & Home Improvement)
This little fixture is ideal for a ceiling-mounted light box with pull chain, such as is often found inside closets or work spaces. It's small and unobtrusive, but its best feature is virtually unique among ceiling fixtures -- its pull chain comes out of the center of the fixture. Most all fixtures with pull chains have their chains coming out of the side of the base. Thus, you pull down on a chain that's really designed to be pulled outwards, often resulting in jammed and broken mechanisms. (In fairness, perhaps they're designed to sit on a wall, not a ceiling, but this doesn't solve the problem.) This little guy has the pull chain directly in the center, which in a ceiling-mounted situation works easily and flawlessly all the time. Try to find fixtures like this online ... they virtually don't exist, except for this one. Use low wattage lights for the two bulbs, to not overwhelm the lighting.

This review is from: Westinghouse #66200 2 Light SQ Ceiling Fixture (Tools & Home Improvement)
I just installed two Westinghouse #66200 2 Light SQ Ceiling Fixtures in two closets. Much, much nicer-looking than the bare bulb porcelain light sockets I had before! Wish I had done this years ago. These lights are incredibly affordable and standard delivery was within a week. Just for fun, I timed the process from beginning to end. The whole project took under 60 minutes to remove two old porcelain sockets and install two of these fixtures, clean up, and toss the packaging. The box contains everything you need: screws, insulating nuts, wire housing, a two-bulb light socket and frosted glass cover (no bulbs included). I tossed their pull string and attached a nice artsy pull chain for my lights. I also installed two 60-watt equivalent (900 lumen) CF bulbs in each fixture instead of the old fashioned, hot, energy-wasting tungsten bulbs. Looks great! You need a screwdriver. Maybe a pair of pliers. That's it. CAUTION: make sure you turn off the circuit breaker before starting this project. The wires are live on pull-chain lights. I love the center-mounted pull chain on this light. All other pull-chain fixtures feed though the side and are hard to pull and tend to break. This one is smooth as silk. What a bargain! UPDATE: I managed to break the switch in one of these lights last week. Not its fault--I snagged a heavy bag on the chain while getting it down from a shelf. I found an identical replacement "ceiling fan light switch" at Home Depot and everything is good again. Nice to see standardized parts.
