This is one of the best little gadgets around for your light shades. No cutting of wires or anything. Will hold up to almost any size shade up. I highly recommend it. I have looked all over for something for my shades but only came across the ones that basically you have to take the whole lamp apart to put in on. If the wiring does not unscrew then your option is to cut the cord to add. This one just crews onto the top of the shade with a shade topper (purchased separately of course) and your ready to go. Highly recommend!

I purchased two lamps for 7 dollars at the local swap meet and didn't think twice about finding lampshades for the great looking lamps. Then I discovered that neither lamp could use a harp, they originally had been designed for unishades. Unfortunately, that limited the selection of shades I could use and drove the price up considerably. These clip on adapters allowed me to purchase great lampshades at a great price. They were shipped quickly and the price was a steal. I am considering getting a couple more, just so I have them in case I want to change lamp shades on some of my other "difficult" lamps.

Well I got it to work, eventually. It comes with a flimsy little screw that will not accept a screwdriver. The screw therefore cannot be tightened and the lamp shade wobbles pitifully. Luckily, the screw is so poorly made that it eventually slips through the opening of the metal plate and then you can replace it with a regular screw from a hardware store. What should have been a 5 minute job took at least 1 hour, including the trip to the hardware store. Also, it would be nice if this item included a simple finial.

This little device works great, allowing any shade to be used with a lamp that doesn't have a harp. I've bought four of them now, and am happy with my purchase and the quick delivery from Amazon.
