4.0 out of 5 stars Nice product
We bought the 27" model (ltv-27w6), however the specs are the same. Big fan of the ASTC built-in tuner to pick up local HD broadcasts. Nice looking device. The remote is well laid out and easy to operate. The set has VGA hookup for PCs (No DVI though). Menu's are intuitive and fairly easy to walk-through.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY
I purchased this TV as a Christmas present for my husband. He loved it, but now - only two months later - 1/2 the screen is black. One issue I have.... The lowest setting (1) on the volume scale is not very low. So listening to the TV at night while lying in bed is still loud. The next setting of 0, goes to complete mute. The set needs a finer adjustment ability below "1".

I understand they have a "Standard Warranty", but it sure seems to me that if a television breaks after only 2 months, there should be some give in that warranty. I would never recommend this product or any Westinghouse product to a person now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value, September 16, 2006
This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I have had this TV for 3 months with no problems. For $850 (now lower) you cannot beat it. HD picture looks great. As another reviewer wrote, sometimes analog pictures have artifacts. For me this only occurred with the standard view and when I used the fill mode the artifacts are no longer visible. The TV speaker is a bit weak so I use extra speakers and a subwoofer. Overall I am very happy with this TV and think spending 2-3x the price for the Sony equivalent is just not worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst TV I have ever owned, November 13, 2007
This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I purchased this TV in August 2006. About three weeks after the 1 year factory warranty ran out, the screen started looking really fuzzy and had shades of bright greens and reds on it, mostly around people's faces. At first, it would clear up after about ten minutes or so, but now it looks like this almost all of the time. I went back to the store where I bought it at (REX TV), and was told there was nothing they could do to help me. Next, I called Westinghouse support, and was told the same thing, and that they only service TV's still under warranty. So, I have $900 invested in a TV that is barely over a year old, and I'm lucky if I can watch it ten minutes before the screen turns green and red and fuzzy. I will never purchase anything with the Westinghouse name on it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal ATSC Tuner, March 29, 2007
This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
Bought a Westinghouse LTV-32w6 HD at Best Buy for $699 last Christmas and have been very impressed with it. I live in a fringe area (50 miles from NY or Phily) and have always had to jump through hoops to get a watch-able analog picture. I don't know what kind of tuner Westinghouse installed, but the digital picture that this HDTV pulls in is nothing short of phenomenal. No glitches, rock solid. There is one minor problem with this set though, it tends to lock up if switching through channels too fast. Hence the 4 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worked 22 mos then NOTHING, April 25, 2008
This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I bought this t.v. in June '06 and had no problems for almost two years. Today, I turned on the t.v. and it powered on, but the screen just stayed blue (back light, I think). No sound, no picture. I unplugged it and powered up...same thing again. The t.v. will not shut off via buttons (only unplugging it works) and I can not pull up the menu or switch the source. Called Westinghouse and they are going to replace it, even though its warranty has been up for 10 mos. After reading the other reviews about replacements, I'm a bit worried! Up until today there have been no major problems, although the t.v. likes to turn on by itself and the menu button works sporadically. Other than that, it's been great. Hopefully, Westinghouse doesn't send me a lemon.

1.0 out of 5 stars piece of junk, April 15, 2008

This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
BUYER BEWARE - mine lasted a little over 18 mths.I started having problems after about 6 mths but Westinghouse's online service kept assuring me that the issue was my cabling, power connection & sattelite hook-up. I was getting a rolling screen after the set had been on a few minutes - but it usually stopped after a few seconds , so I just dealt with it. But then the episodes starting happening more often and lasting longer. So after spending hours and not a few $$$'s on new cabling & re-wiring the plug hook-ups in my living room & having DISH come out & give my entire set-up a check up - I finally got an independent 3rd party (TV repairman) to come look at it. By then I was getting a picture about 15 minutes each hour - the rest of the time it was just fuzzy colors in a revovling pattern. Then I went thru the company I bought the TV from only to find out that this model has basically been discontinued (gee-I wonder why!!!!)I just found out that my extended warranty isn't much better than the tv was & I'm looking at about a 30 day wait for Westinghhouse to give the vendor an RA so they can finish processing my return. NEVER AGAIN - DO NOT BUT THIS TV OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM WESTINGHOUSE. If a 0 star rating was available- that is what I would give this piece of junk and then a -10 for Westinghouse's CS department !!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware!, December 19, 2007
This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I bought a Westinghouse 32W3 HD TV in 2006. One week after the warranty ran out (53 weeks later), the colormap for the display began to malfunction and shimmering colors were displayed on the screen. After determining that the problem was the TV and not the cable, and could not be fixed, I was instructed to send the TV back to Westinghouse for a new one. Two months later and I am still waiting. Once (if) it arrives, I will have a 3-month warranty, hopefully enough time to sell the unit and buy another TV from a company that believes in customer service. Never again!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont buy it!, January 8, 2007
This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I purchased this television in June '06 and began having problems in July. I contacted Westinghouse directly and was told that there was a software issue and that their repair department would be contacting me to arrange for the tv to be fixed. After a month, and still no contact, I called them once again to be told the same thing. Needless to say, I am now working with the attorney generals office to have the issue corrected. My advise...buy a name brand, you really do get what you pay for!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, Bad Service, February 7, 2009
By
This review is from: Westinghouse LTV32W3 32-Inch LCD HDTV (Electronics)
Like a lot of people I've been reading about, I started having problems with my Westinghouse LCD television only a few months after purchasing it. Unfortunately, my problems are sporadic and, not noticing them when viewing cable television, I assumed that this problem was caused by the other input source I used on it (a video game console). I had that unit serviced twice, and by the time I realized that the problem was with the television and not the input source, the unit was out of warranty by about 3 months. Despite having documentation to show that my problems began only a few months after buying their product, their customer disservice department basically told me I was up poop creek. I guess it was crazy of me to expect a $600 television to work properly for a whole year and a half. Thanks for nothing, Westinghouse! Next time, I'll go with Toshiba or Samsung, and I would encourage anyone else to do the same.

Pros
Lots of inputs, is still semi-functional a whole 15 months after purchase.

Cons
Discolored static on areas of uniform color (esp. white and red), framerate drops (bad for gaming), customer service is unresponsive and will allegedly make you pay out of your own pocket for any service they grudgingly provide, other customers have reported sets going dead entirely.
