Powerful, efficient, and reliable, the Westinghouse WH4500 portable gas-powered generator keeps the electricity flowing regardless of the circumstance. House remodel requires the power to be shut off? Your refrigerator and freezer will keep foods cold. Downed power lines from a snowstorm? Your lights will stay on and your house warm. Even remote projects are possible with the WH4500.

Keep Your Motor Running
EPA emissions certified, the WH4500 delivers 4,500 running watts of power and a maximum starting output of 5,600 watts, making it ideal for items with moderate power needs. Powered by a 292cc Westinghouse XP Series engine, the WH4500 includes such features as an easy-access air filter element that allows for quick servicing, a comfort-grip recoil handle and compression release for easy starting, and an overhead valve design to ensure performance and durability. The contractor-proven engine is also built to last, with cast-iron cylinder sleeves, forged pistons and connecting rods, and a transistorized ignition. (Westinghouse also sells a model that's both EPA and CARB compliant, the WH4500C).

High-Performance Alternator
The WH4500's alternator is extremely efficient, with low-loss, high-efficiency laminations that increase electrical output and decrease fuel consumption. Westinghouse also added high-performance alternator varnish to guarantee superior heat-resistance, along with cast-iron fan guards to ensure safe operation. Best of all, the generator handles the toughest tasks without pause. The generator's maintenance-free brush excitation eliminates down time, while the automatic voltage regulation helps the generator accommodate more demanding applications.
Tough Control Panel
Portable generators need to handle tough conditions, which is why Westinghouse equipped the WH4500 with an all-steel control panel with a full enclosure to protect it from debris and nasty weather. The panel enjoys additional corrosion-resistance thanks to the two-part primer and powder coat finish. Other features include a 1/4-turn Nema twist lock connector, a toggle mainline 240-volt circuit breaker for safety, and two 120-volt pushbutton circuit breakers for overcurrent protection.
Easy Operator Features
The WH4500 is easy to use and transport. The generator includes an intuitive interface with color-coded touch points, along with ergonomically designed dual folding handles and never-flat tires. Whether the terrain is flat or wildly uneven, the WH4500 rolls easily to the job site.

Selecting the Right Generator
Portable generators can handle all sorts of tasks--from managing power outages to powering home appliances, power tools, electronics, and more. However, it's important to select the right generator for your needs. Start by determining the starting watts for the item you want to start. Why? Some devices draw additional power when starting, which you need to add to the power needs of the other items running at the same time.
