It would be illogical to eat large amunts of cookies. As a result you cannot fit too mAny into my jars likeness. But as a result you will stay thinner. Further, because no one will guess that I am a cookie jar you will still have many cookies at your disposal.

When the Amazon price dropped on the Westland Giftware Star Trek Spock Cookie Jar, I took advantage of the decrease, and ordered it. I was impressed by the likeness to Leonard Nimoy's classic character in the listing picture, and knew I wanted to own the piece. Yes--the dimensions of the cookie jar are contained within the listing, so the size shouldn't come as any surprise to purchasers, but, when it's actually in front of you, many might consider it smaller than they expected. It works quite nicely as a piece of so-called 'art,' or as a Star Trek collectible to be displayed and admired. However, if you're considering actually using the jar, be advised that it's really only good for smaller items (those thumbnail-sized 100-calorie mini-cookies, or M&Ms, or what-have-you). The base (the 'chest and shoulders' piece) is appropriately wide, but it's really too shallow for more than a handful of your standard-sized Oreos or Nutter-Butter Cookies. ;) The product itself is well-made, and the paint-job (which I assume is done by hand) is good, if not unevenly-applied, under scrutiny. I have one quibble, which could also be considered a suggestion to the manufacturer. In my opinion, the jar would look substantially better as a result of one small touch: Adding the black outline and interior double-circle detail to the iconic 'delta shield' insignia on the character's chest. Without that addition, it just looks rushed, unfinished and incomplete. And, since black paint is already being used on the jar itself, it's not like it would involve more than a few extra brush strokes. Otherwise, it's a nice piece with a reasonable price.

I'm not a die hard Trekker but certainly a life long fan. There's just something so completely off the hook about Spock as a cookie jar that I just had to have it. It's rather large and decently constructed. The paint job is good. A tad thin but really I'm not storing cookies in it (if you wanted to it would be fine but I bet would crack eventually with regular use). It's on my shelf and makes me smile every time I look at it.
