We have this unit in our RV. It would be great we're it not for the wrinkles. I can't even iron the wrinkles out. So now we just use it for underwear and towels and have to trek over to RV park laundromat to do street clothes. However, today I found this tip on the Internet and will try it out:

Tips: After several years use of a Splendide combo-unit we have found the basic permanent press express wash cycle is used most. We also prefer the low-spin option for clothes. The drum can spin so fast, the clothes can be smashed up against the side of the drum wall and - especially in pants and jeans - wrinkling can occur. So, when washing pants and jeans, we recommend removing the clothes after the wash cycle and giving them a good shake before returning the items to the drum for the drying cycle. Also, the "as seen on TV" dryer-balls really do work! Surprisingly, they are not noisy in the Splendid either. We have had best results using the dryer-balls when drying pants, jeans and towels. Many RVers complain about wrinkled results from their machines. The secret to avoiding this problem is to use the low-spin cycle combined with liquid fabric softener - it really works. The manufacturer advises against using dryer sheets in the vented units, feeling the dryer sheet may be sucked into the exhaust vent and become a fire hazard, so use liquid fabric softeners - or dryer-balls. Another secret in the Splendid model: after drying the clothes for a few moments, turn the dryer timer to zero. The unit will continue to tumble, with no heat. This is useful for drying delicate items or "fluffing" items.

There aren't many vented combo washer/dryers out there. I did a lot of research and bought this for my condo to maximize space. It looks like it's primarily intended for boat/RV use. Overall I am very happy. Although the capacity is low, the ability to put clothes in and then have the unit wash and dry them without any additional intervention is surprisingly convenient. And the dryer does dry - which I've heard is not the case with unvented units. Only issue is that there seems to be more wrinkling than with a conventional unit. Not sure why this would be (perhaps I'm doing something wrong) but I have noticed it.

We have a 40' RV and travel alot. Overall our Splendide w/d/ has worked satisfactory for the last 7 years. We're
in Florida now for two months and our Splendide model ( 2100 ) broke the one and only belt it has. No one and I mean no one in the United states carries any parts for these w/d except Westland Sales in Clackamas, Oregon. I spent four days trying to get Westland Sales to return the phone message that they ask me to leave on there machine. Westland has no one LIVE to talk to. After no help, I then started calling RV Dealers in the state of florida. Some took my part number for the belt and said they would get back to me but never did. Some refered me back to Westland and I told them Westland does not return phone calls thinking they would somehow come to my rescue. That didn't work either. One RV dealer in Wildwood, Florida came the closest to being able to lelp me. Well, maybe I should say they gave me a price on the belt and said they would get back to me on the shipping charges. Needless to say, that didn't happen. I called back for two days and only got a run around. At that point I didn't know Westland was the only supplier of parts in the US. What I did figure out was the RV dealers that did try to help me were not getting any response from Splendide (Westland). So after being BENT OUT OF SHAPE for five days and no help, I called Customer Service at the Company that built my Coach. Even though My Coach is seven years old the customer service man was ready and willing to help me. The price of the Belt, $103.00 plus a $ 25.00 three day shipping charge. They were not marking the Belt up because this is the price I was given several days earlier without shipping at the place in Wildwood, Florida. Anyway, I told the customer service man to send it.

I installed it in my RV and it works beautifully!
I use snuggle fabric softener and haven't found the wrinkling issues others spoke of.

It is very quiet, I watched a movie while it was running, and didn't notice it until it got to the spin cycle.
The whole RV was vibrating slightly (with jacks down) but I was so happy about the W/D in the RV I didn't care.

Watching it run for the first time is eye opening, it goes really slow, makes you think it might not clean the clothes, but it does a great job. (just don't be in a hurry)

I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

We bought our washer 4 years ago and it started faulting in the dryer mode 2 years ago. It just keeps on getting worse, now faults on every load. We bought the 5 year extended service contract so it is still under warranty. When I called for warranty work, I was told that this is not Splendide's problem, I was to fix it myself. They said I was to dis-assemble the washer and clean out the internal dryer lint hose. The owner's manual states that there is nothing to clean for lint. It is all flushed down the drain or blown out the exhaust. I cleaned the exhaust hose and vent but it didn't help. Anyway, Splendide refuses to stand behind the warranty or extended warranty. If you do buy one of these washers, expect a 2 year life expectancy.
