Ordered this from COSTCO about 6-8 weeks ago, they had a sales for around $80 plus free shipping and the usual 90 days return policy. I have been using it already 4-5 times - this grinder will definitely be staying with me for a long time.

First of all, this machine is well made. At first, I am quite concern that the drive gear is plastic, but after a few use, I realize that the trick for longevity is during the assemble, i.e., loosely tighten the cover plate (where ground meat come out) when connect it to the machine. This will allow the gear teeth to lock in together without damaging it. Once, firmly installed, then tighten the cover plate.

The grinding speed is just about right, not too fast and have more than enough torque to push the meat through. Most importantly, it does not spray grounded meat all over the place. I did beef, pork and a lot of chicken thighs. It literally grinds 1-2 pound in less than a minute (I cut beef and pork in to 2-3 inch chunk). For chicken thigh, I use the Costco boneless pack - I just use it out of the pack without any further trimming / cutting - - it works just fine.

Cleaning is also very convenient, as all metal parts can be dis-assembled and cleaned with minimum efforts. Wash real well with warm water and soap - wipe dry and let it dry for 5 mins. put back in the box, then off to the shelf in the garage. Lapse time from taking it from the shelf to back to the shelf for each grinding work is around 20-30 mins (sometimes I let it dry longer than 5 mins). Definitely a keeper !!

I have not used the sausage stuffer yet. I just got the recipe for Thai pork sausage - - will make that a few times and write my review again.

It runs a little slow like someone said but I don't mind.
I think, actually, it's safer that a meat grinder goes not too fast.
I'd be scared if I have to rush to stuff meat inside.
It's noisy, yes, but not intolerable.
Its body is made of plastic, which I like. It makes the machine
lightweight and less likely to be scratched or rusty.
Cleaning is easy but little bit of sinew and fat get caught on the screw
and didn't go through so I had to pull them off while cleaning.
Good thing is it goes really steady and smooth.
I don't need to process a lot of meat so the speed doesn't bother me.

Update after two weeks:
Change the blade to a sharper one and it's much faster.
So spend $20 more and there's a brand new machine.
Can you imagine the difference made by two different types of
blades? Starkly different results on the speed. The one provided by the
manufacture is very dull and square shaped, new one is sharp and
swirled.

I purchased item as a gift for my son. He can't say enough good things about it. We had one on a stand mixer that did not perform very well. It was too light weight. In fact we broke it trying to grind meat. We are really enjoying the performance of this grinder.
