the item is an optional part of a total potatoe slicer. pretty expensive compared to the cost of the orignal slicer.

Purchased this item as a whole unit and could not get the thing to work good at all. I did mount the whole cutter to a plastic cutting board and I was able to get some smaller potatoes to cut. I think that the cutter has to be hard mounted to a wall or a table. It seems that if the force of the pusher is stalled at all the cutter stops and you have to beat the potato thru the thing. I dont think this is a very well made product.

Maybe we did something wrong, but we could not get this plate to work. it turned our potato to mush. we had to go back to the plate it came with. would love to figure it out, but could not get the potato to go through.
