Weston 61-0901-W Heavy Duty Food Slicer
Thin, chewy jerky or thick, crisp, smoked bacon are just a slice away with the Weston 9” Meat Slicer. Now you can slice salami, steaks, turkey breast or meat for jerky easily and conveniently in your own kitchen. Whether you want deli thin meats or thick half-inch ham slices, this heavy duty slicer will perform.
The Weston Meat Slicer features a removable blade for easy cleanup and the stainless steel material helps prevent rusting. Suction cup feet keep it sturdy and in place while slicing. The compact design makes it easy to store and transport.

Thick or Thin
If you’re hungry for delicious steak sandwich, with gooey cheese, mushrooms, onions and peppers, there’s no need to venture out of the house. The Weston 9 inch Meat Slicer comes with an adjustable thickness control that allows you to cut deli thin slices for layering or a half-inch thick, hearty slice if desired.
Let It Do Its Thing
Don't force it! People often make the mistake of pushing the food carriage across the blade too forcefully. It should glide right through. When you force the slicer, you wear down the motor, and slow the blade. If you go with the flow, your slicer could last you a lifetime.
Keep the Food Cold
Cold is better. Fully frozen isn't good for any meat slicer. The ice crystals are too hard, and they will dull your blade and overwork the motor. But really cold and/or somewhat frozen is perfect. We recommend placing meats into the freezer for 30 minutes before slicing. Fish can be more frozen.
Create a Flat Surface
Cut item in half before slicing to create a flat surface. Face the surface against the blade. This will make a world of difference. If you start with an oddly shaped end, you'll get off to a bad start and have a tough time slicing uniform pieces.

The one VERY BAD THING is the press that goes between your hand and the food you are slicing. It does not have a track to hold (LOCK) it on the sliding carriage, so when you are pushing the carriage forward, you have to hold down the food press while you are pushing the food into the blade. If you forget to do this, you will find your hand in the VERY SHARP BLADE!!!
If you have used a food slicer before, this is a very good one, for the money. I have no problem using it, and like it very much, but I warn you, IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST SLICER..., BUY A BETTER ONE!
Look at the photos very closely and read the reviews! This is a great food slicer for the money it costs. I also highly recommend you get kevlar gloves for your hands if this is the first slicer you are buying, they come in very handy when you are cleaning the blade also!
I would have given it 5 stars but the food press does not lock on the carriage!
When this slicer arrived it looked very good and when I put it to work it did the job just as I wanted. Cleanup is a snap and it doesn't take up the whole counter.
Looks like the person that designed this machine had actually used one and tried to make it the best he could. For the money it is a five star machine and I am impressed.
The word 'Heavy Duty' is what drew my family to purchase the Weston 61-0901 as a Christmas gift for the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. It was with great anticipation I unpacked this slicer for use in preparing a meat and cheese tray for our New Years Eve celebration. I had smoked a turkey, ham, and purchased several smaller blocks of assorted cheeses for slicing. Apparent immediately was the lack of a sharpening hone as the food slicers I'm familiar with are usually equipped. Eagerly starting with a turkey breast, I positioned the sliding tray accordingly and pushed the power button. The sound coming from the slicer mimicked that of a wind-up toy trying to come up to speed; definitely not the more familiar sound of an electric motor commonly associated with the word 'Heavy Duty'. (It should be noted the instuction manual contains a warning against continued use exceeding fifteen minutes to avoid overheating the drive motor. I wouldn't recommend continuous operation over five.) Slicing through the meats produced reasonable results, although at this point I questioned full functionalily as a food slicer by the groans coming from the laboring drive motor. My doubts were confirmed when I began preparing the cheeses. As the motor bogged, I slowed the progress of the tray movement to a point where I could almost use a hand knife to slice as fast as this model. It wasn't too much longer and the cheese began to crumble as the slices began to tear along the bottom edge.Read more ›
