I just received this for my birthday. I thought I would try Polish sausage. I was wonderful as I could make the spice to my liking. It was so easy to use. I was a little scared to stuff the casings but to my surprise it was perfect the very first time.
My only suggestion is that for sausage links either just run it through one time and then leave the blade in for stuffing the sausage. My first batch was a bit fine as the directions said grind sausage twice and then you leave the grinding blade in for stuffing into casings. Since I had already made one batch and found it would too fine, I took out the blade for the final stuffing on my last batch...a much better truer consistency for sausage.
I would like to see a larger grinding plate. I know some of the hand crank ones have these. Hopefully they will come out with one to fit this machine.
I ordered the optional, Tomato Strainer and can't wait until canning season to try it..just think no more blanching and peeling tomatoes any more! You can just wash core quarter and go.
