This expander broke the first time I tried to use it. I tried using it on a Magnaflow stainless steel exhaust pipe and it didn't even make a dent before the expander cracked. It might work on cheap exhaust pipes that you get at an auto parts store.

Tried to use this expander on some standard pipe and could not get it to stretch. Using an impact gun until it wouldn't go anymore, then using a straight bar with no luck. Releasing pressure with the impact, the C ring keeper holding the nut on the end came off and the pieces fell off in the vehicle side of the pipe. Later retrieved with a magnet. After only 4 attempts the end wedge part that forces the bars out broke off. Not happy with this tool. Ended up just buying the adapter sleeves from the auto parts store and welding them on. That choice was cheaper, more cost effective, and less of a headache that wasting time/money with the stretcher.
