Review
Seeking a claim in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Lainey Prescott, her sister Beth, and Beth's baby daughter Anna are going to start a new life for themselves. Headstrong and naive, Lainey doesn't realize the dangers that await women traveling alone. She certainly doesn't need the help of Ethan Holt who seems determined to watch out for her despite her protests. Somehow, Ethan is always there for her when things go wrong, ready to bail her out of yet another situation. Ethan and his brother Travis are making their own claim in Guthrie-- right next to the Prescotts. It's no accident that Ethan always happens to be where Lainey is-- he's fallen in love with her and is determined to have her, no matter what. Leaving behind his life as a lawman, Ethan wants to start a ranch and he intends for Lainey to be by his side-- now all he has to do is convince her. Meanwhile, Travis and Beth are discovering a mutual attraction that blossoms into love. With less money than she'd expected to have, Lainey is desperate for a job to earn enough so she can afford to build a house and buy a cow. She rejects Ethan's offers of help (but more often than not, he simply ignores her wishes) and vows to handle things her own way. But when claim jumpers threaten her ownership, she has no choice but to enter into an unusual agreement with Ethan. Though it's only a business situation, Lainey finds it harder and harder to deny the powerful hold Ethan has on her heart. With all the difficulties threatening these new homesteaders, it is love that will bind them together and see them through it all-- just as Ethan intended.Richly textured and wonderfully written! A tribute to the indomitable spirit of the west! Catherine Creel is marvelous! She takes a moment in history and molds it into a romantic tale that touches the heart and fires the imagination! Westward Angel captures the flavor and feeling of the west! The characters are bold and passionate and the plot is fascinating and fast paced! Western romance thrives thanks to talented authors like Catherine Creel!Kristina Wright --
