For John Wetton/Asia Fans only,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wetton/Manzanera (Audio CD)
This is an album of extremes, not from poor to excellent, but rather, from mediocre to stellar. Recorded shortly after he left Asia in the mid-80s, a fair amount of what's here is John Wetton's "B" material. Examples: "Keep On Loving Yourself", "You Don't Have To Leave My Life." On the other hand, there is vintage Wetton orchestral layering in "Round in Circles" and power ballads defined with "Suzanne" and "Have You Seen Her Tonight?" Compared to his later solo work, this album represents a turning point from leaving Asia and the pop-rock '80s and returning to his progressive roots.

When John Wetton returned to Asia he should have brought Phil Manzanera with him. If this had been the Asia album Alpha it would have done quiet well. This is a really good album nobody knows about because the record company did not want to put their money behind it in support. What else is knew when it comes to record companies.
Anyway this effort is not a waste of your money.

This record has very good lyrics. The music is of high standards , pop oriented but very well crafted.

One World,

The former Roxy Music bandmates reunited in 1987 for this one-off released, originally released by Geffen, reissued as "One World" with a slightly different cover. I don't know much about Roxy Music except that it was Bryan Ferry's group. I'm more a fan of John Wetton anyway. If you're a fan of any of the above, this is for you.

It couldn't be worse,

I was expecting something marvelous, since Wetton is a fantastic musician and Manzanera has participated on Pink Floyd's works, but the result is a horrendous album. All songs are weak. Don't buy it.
