Editorial Reviews

Wetwired is the debut of a new star in Prog Metal, Icycore. In spite of the stylistic variety which characterizes Icycore and the highly skilled level of musical artistry, their compositions sound unique and never cranky. With Wetwired, Icycore deliver an album you could easily compare to early Dream Theatre releases. Featuring guest vocals by Terence Holler of Eldritch fame.

Format: Audio CD
This is the debut album from the Italian band Icycore. If you like Queensryche-Dream Theater-Savatage you will love these guys (and gal). Not content to debut a collection of songs that make up an album this ambitious band debuts with a concept album! A story about a man, disillusioned with his mortal life seeks to have his soul "uploaded" to the internet. IMHO, the music is on par with Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime. The storyline on par with Savatage. Valerio's voice has some similarities to Dream Theater's James LaBrie, but I think Valerio demonstrates a broader range of styles ranging from soaring clear vocals to deep growls and everything in between. Besides excellent musicianship the production is excellent. Everytime I listen to this CD on headphones I hear more and more new sounds. Any Power Prog fan that is looking for something new and cool to listen to needs this CD. You can also go to their web site [...] and listen to some MP3's and read the lyrics and story.
