5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational Talent, December 3, 2002
By
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
From the moment I heard their first big hit, I fell in love with these two guys. I was highly impressed that they wrote all their music and the lyrics are great. I seriously have listened to both their CD's over a million times.
The mixture of slow paced melodical music and fast, bouncy beats make for an interesting CD. It's a hard to find CD...but well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Evan and Jaron are so much more than "Crazy For This Girl", June 19, 2001
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
I fell in love with the Lowenstein brothers after hearing Crazy For This Girl, but "We've Never Heard of You Either" is some of Evan and Jaron's best music! Their harmonies are amazing, the lyrics are heartfelt and thought-provoking, and no two songs sound the same, which is SO refreshing. Especially give "South of Tennessee" a listen. Great album!!

I picked up this CD in a Virgin MegaStore at one of the listning kiosks...and I didn't put it down. They have an awesome rock/folk mix, great guitar and thoughful lyrics, best of all, the guys are HOT! Every time I listen to their CD I just want to hug my boyfriend...it's that good. Buy this one...you'll keep it in the disc changer, guaranteed!

5.0 out of 5 stars truly excellent, January 2, 2000
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
This fresh duo definately has talent. They come the closest to matching Simon and Garfunkel than anyone I've heard. Their single "And Then She Says" is only the surface of their talent. My favorite is "Andy Warhol". This album is great for all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars EVAN AND JARON DO NOT DISAPPOINT!!!, July 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
I have been an avid listener of the Lowenstein brothers for quite some time now. They have played on many occasions at Emory University for some great fraternity parties and are always a crowd pleaser. Wonderful lyrics, soothing voices, and great looks give Evan and Jaron two thumbs up in my book. "And Then She Says" has always been a favorite of mine. It makes for a wonderful song to share with a significant other. I would love to have these guys sing at my wedding.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Good Lyrics, March 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
Evan & Jaron have the best lyrics around here... they are deep and full of meaning. It's a nice change of scenery to see a group write music that makes sense for once! Some of my favorites are "Like the Rain" and "There You Are Again"... I really want their CD, but it so hard to get... so you should probably be thinking about ordering it from Amazon pretty soon if you like good lyrics and good music. If you like lyrics that really reach the heart, I think you'll like this CD a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Evan and Jaron's new cd is their best so far!, November 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
They stuck with the same sounds and great lyrics and finally created a cd available in record stores. "There you are again" has awesome guitar background, and "South of Tennessee" is a great one to sing along with. This band is better than most.. it just needs time to become famous.

4.0 out of 5 stars Catchy Beatlesque jangle pop, June 14, 1998
By
Scott G (Thegbees@aol.com) (a CD filled apartment in Queens, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
Much like other residents of Athens, such as REM in their Reckoning and Murmur stage, this album is full of strong jangle pop, with strong melodies played over dual guitars.

Although the lyrics are not the strongest (see "Andy Warhol"), the highlights certainly outweigh any defects. Strongest songs include "Could've been James Dean" and "Couldn't care less about", the later of which highlights their Beatle roots, with layered harmonies and a rollicking chorus.

With five stars reserved for classic, groundbreaking albums such as Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, or the Beatles Sgt. Pepper, this album gets a solid four. Enjoy.

this cd is awesome. The songs are tell the stories the way they are, and the way everyone can relate to them. 'Close my eyes'... I can't think of a better song to listen to when I'm down. the beautiful raw 'How to keep the sky from falling', the scream-along song 'Couldn't care less about' and all those other great tracks! This album is a classic

5.0 out of 5 stars Still one of my favorites after all these years, March 31, 2010
This review is from: We've Never Heard of You Either (Audio CD)
I was a huge fan of Evan and Jaron 10 years ago, and although they have come out of the spotlight, they still hold a special place in my heart. I bought their self-titled first, and it never left my cd player...until I bought We've Never Heard Of You Either. This is not only my favorite album from them, but it is in my top 10 favorite albums of all time. I love every single song on this album, my favorites including "And Then She Says", "South of Tennessee", "Couldn't Care Less About", and "Like The Rain". Evan and Jaron are a breath of fresh air in the world of the horrible excuse for music we have today.
