5.0 out of 5 stars 8 YEAR OLD SLIPPED AND SLIDED FOR HOURS! = HAPPY MOM!
WANTED TO WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT THIS ITEM BECAUSE READ MANY ON OTHER SLIP AND SLIDE AND DIDN'T WANT TO BUY. SO I CHOOSE THIS SLIP AND SLIDE BECAUSE IT WAS THE CHEAPEST ($10). GOT IT HOME (YESTERDAY) MY 8 YEAR OLD COULD NOT WAIT FOR ME TO GET THE BAGS UNLOADED. WENT OUTSIDE AND HOOK UP HIMSELF!(5 STARS ALONE FOR THAT!) ANOTHER 5 STAR FOR HOURS PLAYED (4 HOURS). I HAD TO...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the Slip 'n Slide I remember. Complete waste of money
The old slip 'n slide was primitive by comparison. Just a piece of plastic with metal "staple" type stakes for the corners with a sprayer tube running down the side. When you reached the bottom it was just a slide off into the mud (but a ton of fun!).

This new design incorporates a splash pool type thing at the end with sprayers to make it fun. Not a bad...

This was so much fun for my 2yr old, 5 yr old and 7 yr old girls. I made sure to be very careful with setting it down on the ground so as to avoid tears. I actually placed a tarp underneath to eliminate the sharp grasses, sticks, uneven ground which can tear the plastic. It performed perfectly.

Not a bad idea, but there are so many holes at the end of the slide where you splash, that there isn't enough water left to adequately wet the sliding area (where you NEED it to hydroplane). And yes, I have good water pressure. This only gets worse if you set it up on a hill. Even a slight hill robs the top of the slide of water in favor of the splash pool (like you'll ever slide that far...)

The review that complained that the sprayers only squirt up is wrong. Sometimes they spray away, or down, or past.... It all depends on how the sprayer tube is rotated. Unfortunately you need to re-aim it frequently and often. What a pain.

Ultimately we found a hill in our side yard, laid out some 6 mill plastic from the hardware store and aimed a sprinkler on it. What a BLAST!

The Slip 'n Slide is in the trash!

Easy set-up, and lots of fun for the kids! I didn't have problems with it tearing, like some other reviews mentioned. Yes, you have to adjust the side so that the water sprays on the slide... but it's not like I was adjusting it all day (maybe two or three times all afternoon). I'm totally satisfied with the purchase.

I was able to purchase this at a local store for only $10, but when I got it home, it lasted literally only ten minutes with a 3, 5 and 6 year old playing on it. The side streams don't shoot near high enough, or even onto the slide, as the holes are punched top dead center, so the streams pretty much just go straight up, (obviously they should be at a 75 degree angle or so.) After ten minutes, the base where the water pools into got a 4-inch split in it.

I got this slip and slide for my daughter's birthday party. They had for with it for a couple of hours - then one of the seems just busted. They give you two little stick on pads for small holes, but we're talking about a 5 inch tear here.

I used a clothes pin and pinched the plastic together right before the tear and we actually got another couple of hours of fun out of it. This might also work for somebody whose water pressure is low. - Just put a clothes pin at the end tube where the water runs through and it'll shoot right up.

Wham-O supposedly offers a 30 day refund on the product, not sure if it's even worth returning though. I think the quality is just so low that another one will bust right away too.

I DIDN'T READ THEM!! the negative product reviews for this item are correct.

How could it be that bad and yet Amazon sells sell the Wham-o Slip 'N Slide Wave Rider.
They were right!!! it split a seam within one minute of little children (small 5 and small 8 yr olds) using it!!

the headlines say it all:
Not worth it...at any price.
Not the Slip 'n Slide I remember. Complete waste of money

As always, a Slip-N-Slide is a ton of fun! This one was great, and had an inflatable 'boogie-board' for the kids to use with it. We sat the little ones on the boogie-board and slid them down the chute.

This is an excellent slip n' slide. Water kind of pools to the end so you end up with a splash at the end. Kids are sure to love it!

We have a Memorial Day BBQ every year and this item is always a hit. The problem is of course that they never last. We had 12 kids ranging from 4-9 (as well as a couple of dads) all using it and it only took about an hour for it to split at a seem. I was prepared for this and had purchased 2 of them and the 2nd one lasted until the end of the day.

I don't think the brand really matters--none of them last so i just buy the cheapest one and use it for the one time. A wider one might have been nicer--not for two to go at once just to give the kids more space, and the little blow up sled thing actually slowed them down so they just went on their bellies.
