There's no disputing the need for a quality center-channel speaker: about 80 percent of a movie's sound is routed through the center channel, and today's DTS music CDs are mixed for five full-range speakers. All of this recommends the use of Wharfedale's Modus Music, which has a frequency response of 65 to 22,000 Hz. This means you'll hear more bass frequencies than you would through the average center-channel speaker, bringing home theater and multichannel music closer to the real thing.
Reaping the benefits of Wharfedale's years of experience and extensive research in sonic airflow, the Modus Music Center's 1-inch, silk-globe tweeter offers a distinct advantage--primarily, excellent localization--over more traditional designs.
Shielded components allow distortion-free placement near video monitors. Wharfedale provides a five-year warranty for parts and labor.

Modus- Modest, but Honest,

If you have some Wharfedale Diamonds or Opals and are looking to upgrade to a home theater surround sustem, then this is the center channel speaker you need. This speaker is not the most spectacular performer you can buy and does not have the deepest bass extension, but its flat response and lack of coloration do justice to the dialogue portions of your video soundtracks. It is important to match the timbral qualities of your left and right speakers so that dialogue remains centered at your video monitor, but also blends smoothly with the other channels. I have been using this center speaker with a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 7.2's in the front of my home theater and it matches the sweet, clean highs and mids that Wharfedales are famous for. The wide dispersion of the silk dome tweeter and the ported mid-bass drivers help create a realistic soundstage. I would always recommend the center channel speaker be the same brand as your lefts and rights to get the most seamless sound reproduction.

I would recommend this system for anyone wnating to intensify their DVD experience. The sound it very clean, but not overbearing or "tinny" with its silk tweater. The dual drivers with the silk tweater provide a comfortable listening experience. Clear, accurate, sharp appearance and sound, Good build quality and hardware.A word about the size: if you have size constraints, be careful, it will not rest lightly on your TV. I'm trying to limit my bias, but I liked the sound of this center speaker so much I bought two more for rear speakers. MFM-7s left right, modus music centers, center and rear.Matched up with a Yamaha 795 receiver and a decent Polk sub, and your in DD or DTS Heaven!

Wharfedale modus is a powerful center.,

In todays surround systems, the center channel just does not do voices alone. The job of a complete full dimensional channel is handled superbly by this center from wharfedale. The price is right and the sound is full. Wharfedale continues to produce items that can be enjoyed by those without deep pockets. I had no problem in balancing the timbre with my Infinity Kappa series 7.5 front speakers.Great Stuff!
