If you are looking to complete your surround sound system with surround, rear speakers, these are wonderful !!! They also have center channel. These will be good for front as well.

UK made & hand wired speakers. Heard that this brand have been around for a long time. See more reviews done for the same product but white color.

I had 2 pairs of these. I use them as my satellite speakers. I have a 5.1 system and a 7.1 system powered by Yamaha and Onkyo respectively. I have Paradigm fronts and center and Polk subs in both settings. In the 7.1 system, I have 2 Paradigm satellites and 2 Wharfedale satellites. I would certainly not say that these are the best, but I still liked them. I have listened to better speakers, but I am not going to the top dollar for them. So, i got these and am happy with them so far.

These speakers are great surround speakers in either a 5.1 or 7.1 system. I've used them in both and the omnidirectional pattern they display is very effective in surround applications. Very reasonably priced AND able to handle ample power for the most demanding playback. Used a pair with a small lcd - opened up the sound stage and clarified the audio even using the ten watt amplification provided by the lcd manufactuter.

I had never heard of wharfedale before but for the price at amazon I went ahead and bought these speakers, as soon as they arrived via ups I hooked them up as front speakers for about 20hrs for baking, after that they were broken in and began sounding real good, so I moved them to the rear for surround effects, after watching the first movie with these speakers I was real happy with the results, I felt like I was in a 50 seats movie theater. Go and Buy these speakers and where else but amazon, great price and free shipping. thanks amazon.

While these are nothing compared to the NHT speakers I have as my fronts, they do a nice job of completing any budget oriented system. They are surprisingly good with filling in the ambience of surround sound from movies and were surprisingly capable when it came to music. I set them up as fronts just to test what they could really do, and they did surprise me a bit. The imaging was ok, along with the mids. They obviously arent supposed to go very low on a bass scale, and their trebel was a bit toned down, but nothing too bad. They might require a bit of break in also, but Im really not sure yet. They were fairly well constructed and ran well off both my receiver and my separate amp. When looking at the price though, there really arent many better deals out there. In this case, I really do think you get MORE than what you pay for.
