Atlantic Unearthed: Soul Brothers

I became a Donny Hathway fan as a graduate student at Howard University. I am especially proud to be an alumnus of this great University along with Mr. Hathaway. His talents were awesome and his voice has greatly influenced my own singing and the musical talents of so many others.

I was on youtube.com when I heard the song 'What A Woman Really Means' and decided to go amazon.com to look for it. I was ecstatic to find this was a previously unreleased song now available on the CD Atlantic Unearthed: Soul Brothers, a project of previously unreleased material by some of Atlantic's finest, including Donny Hathaway, Otis Redding, and Wilson Pickett.

I hope more of Mr. Hathaway's previously unreleased material becomes available in the future. Moreover, I am also a great fan of the music of his daughter Lalah Hathaway. I've followed her career since her solo debut in 1990 and she is spectacular. In my opinion, she channels much of father's musical spirit in her recently released project Self-Portrait.
