About the Author

Kate Figes was born in 1957 and lives in London with her husband and their two children. Her previous books are Because of her Sex: the Myth of Equality in Britain; The Cosmopolitan Book of Short Stories (1995); The Penguin Book of International Women's Stories (1996); Life After Birth (1998) and The Terrible Teens (2002). She is a journalist and is Books Editor for You magazine. WHAT ABOUT ME? is her first novel.
