That's My Baby!

HUSH LITTLE BABY

Through a miracle of modern medicine, Caroline Grant's fifty-nine-year-old mother gave birth to a baby girl. Now, two years later, Caroline has "inherited" little Natalie. Caroline had always wanted a child of her own—but raising her estranged mother's other daughter was something Caroline had never dreamed of!

Lawyer Kent Maxwell's objective was convincing Caroline Grant to give the "miracle baby" a home. When she refused, Kent had to go to Plan B—persuasion. But persuading the sexy blonde she was mommy material had an unexpected result. Could it be Kent's confirmed bachelor days were numbered?

THAT'S MY BABY! Sometimes bringing up baby can bring surprises…and showers of love!

Editorial Reviews

Review

Caroline's life hasn't been easy. She was estranged with her mother, lived with her father, married, divorced and put herself through school. It's time to take care of Caroline, so she found a job with the third rate Fil-Er-Fast, a gasoline company, then broke her leg. She's in a cast and is a klutz on crutches so she's stuck in a wheelchair for the time being. Natalie Perry, an heiress, is just a baby when her mother and father die, leaving her to her older sister, Caroline Grant. Attorney Kent Mackay represents the late Perry's and it's his duty to see to the guardianship of little Natalie. Kent and Natalie arrive from Dallas hoping Caroline will agree to become Natalie's legal guardian. Kent ingratiates himself on Caroline and he uses his considerable charm to Natalie's advantage, and his own. Caroline tries to resist the adorable baby and the handsome attorney because they don't fit in with her life's plan at the moment, but she grows fond of baby Natalie, and of Kent Mackay. Kent and Natalie move in with Caroline temporarily and that gives the three of them a chance to bond, and it also helps to dissolve Caroline's attitude towards bringing up a baby. When their relationship takes a serious turn it remains for Kent and a Judge to decide what the future will hold. This enjoyable romance, What To Do About Baby, incorporates the worthwhile message that despite our lineage or environment, it's what we make of ourselves that counts.Martha Hix cleverly combines romance with an important message in a very subtle, readable and enjoyable way! What To Do About Baby has good, strong characters and a unusual plot that make it more than just a romance! Fine writing by Martha Hix!Gloria Miller -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc.
