5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin!
This album is one of the best 1999 albums I've heard so far. I don't really wanna rate the songs, but I will tell about them. Of course, we all know "In a dream" which was a real radio hit in the 90's, and it has that R&B and disco pop sound. And I think I've heard "When I'm gone" on the radio once, even though most people really didn't hear it, it...

3.0 out of 5 stars some good ear catching remakes
Although most if not everything on this CD is a remake, Rockell has a knack for putting old tired tunes into a fresh bouncy new light. i thought she did Peter Framptons.."show Me The Way" as well has anyone since Frampton himself. It's a pleasure listening to this bright young star, but she does need to try some of her own music.

This album is one of the best 1999 albums I've heard so far. I don't really wanna rate the songs, but I will tell about them. Of course, we all know "In a dream" which was a real radio hit in the 90's, and it has that R&B and disco pop sound. And I think I've heard "When I'm gone" on the radio once, even though most people really didn't hear it, it was once on PST (103.5 radio) or the disco pop radio. It has a fast and catchy beat. Some of us also heard "In a dream (1:00 AM mix)" on the remix radio station, and I thought WOW another good make of Rockell's song. I also heard "Can't we try" on the radio, first I thought it sounded like Rockell's voice and it was, because when the song was over they said "That was Rockell's hit "Can't we try." And then, a couple of weeks later, I went to a CD store and I found Rockell's CD, it was the last pair because all the other CD stores I couldn't find Rockell's CD ANYWHERE, so it was real popular in the 90's and I bought it right away. When I listened to it, I listened to it for 6 hours! Rockell has real catchy songs, and "In a dream" and "When I'm gone" are my most favorite songs on the album, and the rest of the album is great too. Please, I hope my reveiw helped and to Rockell haters, I'm sorry but I love Rockell's music too much! I hope Rockell never retires, I hope she keeps making good pop music over and over, cause no matter what I'll keep listening to it! Rockell is very talented, and so what if most of her songs are remakes like Jossett's version, well I think Rockell sounded a lil better in her version. Hope my reveiw helped, and when you listen to this album you'll know its worth it and your definetly going to give this album 5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Stunning Debut., April 7, 2002

Rockell, unlike Britney Spears, CAN sing. And so what if most of the songs on this album are remakes? I'm only 15 so I've never even heard any of the originals- therefore these songs sound new to me. Here's a review:

1. When I'm Gone- This song is fast and it has a great chorus- a very strong song.

2. Can't We Try (Duet With Collage)- This is one of the best duets I've ever heard.

3. Runaway With Me- This is a very plain song, but a very good one with a good beat.

4. In A Dream- This is the best song on the album- who doesn't like this one?

5. Show Me The Way- This is another great song with a faster pace and good chorus.

6. Love Won't Let Me Wait- This is a very slow, oldies sounding song but Rockell does a great song with it.

7. Take Me Higher- This song is very plain too, with Rockell moaning and groaning the whole way through it.

8. I Fell In Love- This was Rockell's first song she ever recorded and you can tell that her voice has gotten stronger since this song. Nevertheless, it's a great song.

9. Dream Boy- Dream Girl (Duet With Collage)- Another duet with Collage, but a good one.

10. In A Dream (1:00 AM Mix)- Just as good as the Original Mix, but with a faster pace.

11. I'll Be There- This song has a fast beat to it, but not AS fast as some of the other songs. Rockell still sings her head off, though.

Overall, this is a great dance/freestyle cd with cool beats, fun lyrics AND with a great singer. So, buy it, I'm sure you'll like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockell is the real deal !!!, May 3, 1999

It is about time that there is finally an artist that isn't a carbon copy teen beat wannabe(can we all say Britney?) Rockell's music is fresh, exciting and downright danceable. In reading the others reviews, I see some people are giving her flack for re-recording others songs! SO WHAT?? If you take a listen to the other songs on the album like," When Im Gone", "I'll Be There","Take you Higher"& "Runaway with Me", you will definatley know that these songs are the ones that outshine any remake!! Rockell is going to become a huge star. I have a feeling that this was just a taste of what's to come! I can't wait to hear what she does next!!!! Rockell -much continued success to you always!!

From Lil Suzy to Rockell, no other albums can get any better than this! Especially with the remake of "In A Dream" and "Dream Boy/Dream Girl".

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice n' Tight.....easy to dance and listen to., February 12, 1999

Sure, the majority of the songs on this album are remakes, but Rockell does a great job on them. "Cant We Try" is one of the tightest songs I've heard in a while, and "I Fell in Love" is a must-play in the car. Overall, a decent album.

It's a great dance song! I was also pleased with her version of "Can't we try." I also liked the mesmerizing "Love won't let me wait." Unfortunately, I skipped over everything else.

If you were around the club scene in the late '90s then you definitely remember Rockell and her "In a Dream" hit. If you are into this kind of music the CD is great, and they are getting hard to come by.

"In a dream" is one of the best freestyle dance songs I have ever heard. This album has several upbeat dance songs, along with a few slower songs as well. Brings back great memories!
