How little the world has changed,
This review is from: By What Authority? (Paperback)
This is an intriguing book. It begins rather slowly but moves along quite nicely once one is accustomed to the pace. The characters are rather clearly cut, including both virtues and vices. Although written over a hundred years ago at the time of the Elizabethan persecution of "papists", it rings true even today where it is considered "with it" to denounce the Catholic Church. A good read.

Absolutely wonderful book. Captures the complexities and horrors of the English Reformation. I was so sad when I was finished with the book because I didn't want it to end!
