5.0 out of 5 stars My Best Friend Loves this Record to Death
This is totally a chick's album. Girls will love "What Became of Me" on all the different levels, especially lyrically. The music, especially the vocals, are a bit too sweet for the angry metal head dudes to relate to, but for those who like sensitive boys (like Dashboard Confessional), making sensitive music with heart on the sleeve lyrics, than this is the album for...

I love Roses are Red and have supported them for some time now. Since their first cd came out ive been to almost all their shows (since i live 30 minutes from rochester their hometown) and bought their stickers and hoodies. Ive talked with the guys and they are very cool.

Now with the cd. Its very plain. It seems uninspired and lost is the energy from...

This is totally a chick's album. Girls will love "What Became of Me" on all the different levels, especially lyrically. The music, especially the vocals, are a bit too sweet for the angry metal head dudes to relate to, but for those who like sensitive boys (like Dashboard Confessional), making sensitive music with heart on the sleeve lyrics, than this is the album for you. It's the band's second disc for Trustkill Records and my best friend (a sensitive girl) really loves it.

The Band gets compared to Taking Back Sunday, but is just lacking something in the over-packed emo world of bands of the same genre for me. Still, like I said my best friend loves it to death, so five stars from me, despite the few misgivings I may have.

I love Roses Are Red, the boys are so polite and kind on their tours and they produced another wonderful album. All the songs are catchy and really powerful...this is a must have!

I love Roses are Red and have supported them for some time now. Since their first cd came out ive been to almost all their shows (since i live 30 minutes from rochester their hometown) and bought their stickers and hoodies. Ive talked with the guys and they are very cool.

Now with the cd. Its very plain. It seems uninspired and lost is the energy from Conversations. I loved Conversations and that it could use a little touch up on vocals but the new vocals seem so fake. Too much computer editing and way too many boring rock added in. I am very disappointed (add it to the list cough thursday and atreyu cough) with this release. I will still support them and check out the shows but Im not very happy with the direction they have taken. Gone are the screams, the energy, the drive. Maybe next time RaR.

4.0 out of 5 stars You're both WRONG!, June 17, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: What Became of Me (Audio CD)
O f%#king KAY...so the guy who said that ALL the songs on *What Became Of Me* sound like song from *futures* is wrong...but he ISN'T wrong to say that SOME OF THEM DO. How can you listen to "These Days" and NOT hear a total Jimmy influence? It's there, trust me. But really, WHO CARES! Plenty of bands sound like Jimmy Eat World, too many for me to list, and I don't hear anyone calling for a lawsuit against them. As for Andrew; Sir, I believe YOU are in need of hearing aids. To say the two sound nothing alike? That's just stupid. No, RaR are NOT a carbon copy, but as I said before, the influence is clearly there. So both of you should just shut the f#%k up. This isn't a message board, anyway.

As for the CD, I liked it alot. They remind me alot of Foo Fighters, which are an awesome band. If you like anything by foo, you'll probably like RaR. It's just straight up rock and roll with a heavy emphasis on melody. Sweet.

P.S. I'm not a kid. I just don't want Amazon to become like Myspace for me, so I limit review writing to once a month.

5.0 out of 5 stars That Jimmy Eat World guy is deaf., June 15, 2006
This review is from: What Became of Me (Audio CD)
I have to disagree with the first review for this cd titled "Jimmy Eat World, i smell lawsuit". He must have a few screws loose, this cd and Jimmy Eat Worlds - Futures sound nothing alike. It doesn't matter if you like the cd or not it's the fact that you try to make some absurd statement that could hurt a small band like Roses Are Red. Your statement is not true and if I ran this website I would banned you also I would buy you a hearing aid (the best on the market). Don't even take the first review in consideration. This cd is great and by buying it you would support a great band. Everyone check it out.

Melodic, post-emo working class rock with just a touch of pop-punk flavor. Had it not been for the fact that every song on this entire record sounds like it was lifted from 'futures', I'd be more willing to put in a recommendation. Remember kids, just say no to drugs, and stealing is wrong.
