Lisa Harper is such a gifted communicator and she clearly does that in this book. She draws you in with her humor, her wisdom, her Bible knowledge and understanding, her vivid descriptions and discussion of how things were then and ties it in to how things are today. Lisa has a way of relating that draws the reader in. Lisa just gets better and better with each passing book that God inspires her to write. This one is no exception.I am truly blessed by this book and look to share it with others. Thanks, Lisa, for following God's heart,sharing His love and grace and for reaching out to women everywhere!

I have not finished this book because it is a weekly study on the books of the bible but the weeks that I have done have been wonderful. I would recommend this book for beginning Christians and also for all Christians to review all the books of the Bible. I ordered several more for Christmas gifts.

Lisa Harper is the best bible study teacher I have read. She does a wonderful job of intertwining engaging stories with the truth of scripture. She has a way of revealing things in scripture that I had not noticed before. I love everything she has written, especially this book - What the Bible is all about for Women. MUST HAVE BOOK.

"What the Bible is All About For Women" is one of those must have books. Lisa Harper has a way of making you connect and understand the bible through her relevant illustrations, funny stories and her obvious love and understanding of God's word. This book will capture your attention from the first paragraph and have you wanting to dig deep into His word. I would highly recommend this book for yourself and one for a friend.

Lisa Harper has a way of making you laugh while helping you learn more about the love of God. I am a young adult and this book is perfect to me because it relates personal stories and Hollywood movies to biblical stories. For once an author has been able to keep my attention while taking me through every book of the Bible. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

I love this book! Even though I've been in lots of Bible studies each chapter - especially the "What's the Story of This Particular Book" section - revealed something new about God's Word. I also appreciated the fact that Lisa (the author) consistently highlights God's love for broken people, because I definitely don't have a "perfect" life. Plus, some of her stories are hilarious which really kept me engaged! I think What the Bible is All About For Women has the perfect blend of humor, theological substance and refreshing authenticity. It's going to stay on my nightstand for long time.

I ordered the book for use in a women's Bible study group. We will be starting to use it after January 1, 2010. However, I looked through the book when I received it and was very pleased with its condition, etc. I felt it was just as represented in the description before I purchased it. Thanks!!

Have you ever wondered what the Bible is about? Do you want to see yourself as part of God's plan? What the Bible is All About for Women is supposed to answer these questions, in 66 easy-to-read devotionals.

Each devotional is named after one of the books of the Bible, for example, the first one is Genesis, the second Exodus, etc., and the last one is Revelations. Lisa Harper quoted quite heavily from Henrietta Mears's overview of the Bible.

Each devotional includes:

. The broad theme of each book
. Henrietta's highlights
. Looking for yourself in God's love story
. Movie clip moments

What the Bible is All About for Women is fluff. If you want to know what the Bible is about, read the Bible. This book picks one story out of the many in each book, for example, according to What the Bible is All About for Women, Genesis is about Abraham and Sarah playing on the floor with Isaac and then taking him up to sacrifice him. That is not at all what Genesis is about. That is only a small part of Genesis. It's the same with the other devotionals. She picked one small part and put that down as the broad theme of the book.

I cannot recommend What the Bible is All About for Women. If you want a review about a movie, then the movie clip moments might be worth something, but otherwise, I'd suggest reading the Bible, or a good devotional, like Today in the Word published by Moody Press.
