Book Description

May 31, 2009
Book Review: By M. Gregory (Miami, Fl United States) "With the credit crunch that is affecting just about everyone (irrespective of our geographic location), it is good to have a practical book that can guide us through our credit problems. I am blown away by the openess and honesty of this author. Not many individuals are willing to say that they had financial problems and that is what did it for me with this book. I find that too many books on credit problems are filled with theory but you cannot apply them to real life situations. However, I found this book to be the total opposite. The author goes even a step further by including sample letters in his book, which saves me time searching the internet for templates and the like. I totally agree with him that financial difficulties can be as devastating as the death of a loved one. Actually, many individuals commit suicide because of financial problems. Let's hope that by reading this book many more individuals will be able to repair their lives the way he did. I look forward to seeing another great book from this author."

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring, badly edited drivel! Save your money!, January 11, 2011
This review is from: What You can Do to Conquer Your Credit and Debt Problems (Paperback)
THE GOOD;
He must have done some research to fill the pages.

THE BAD;
Awful formatting which is hard to follow. Badly edited.
Boring drivel which goes on and on.
He never gets to the point. Jumps from topic to topic.

THE ANNOYING;
He often refers to his ideas as "Michael's Golden Survival Thoughts RULE #1~ It's not as bad as you think. Don't lose sleep over it."
Here's another one: "I call this the "Mikey Tactic"
This goes on right through the book and is extremely irritating.

There is nothing of value in this book. Save your money and look elsewhere for help with your debt problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful Information Now and in the Future, June 24, 2009
This review is from: What You can Do to Conquer Your Credit and Debt Problems (Paperback)
Michael W. Newman has written a book for our times, never more relevant than today. The book is loaded with easy to understand basic information explaining not only how you can fall into debt and credit quicksand and how to get out of it, but how they work. There's plenty of insight into what's going on at the other end of the phone when you receive that dreaded "We will ruin your credit" call.

There are form letters examples of which are in the chapters and in the appendix. You can adapt them to keep creditors at bay until you can work out your strategy to grab that rope and pull yourself out of the financial muck you stepped into. There are forms to correct information in your credit report, communicate bankruptcy, voiding contracts, etc. Everything you need.

This is a good book to study and a good reference to have handy BEFORE you get into financial hell. I found only one piece of advise I would not recommend, but it's minor, a matter of personal choice, and isn't financially important.

The book is easy to read. Don't look for unnecessary jokes and filler. This book gets to the point fast and stays there. I would have liked to have this information some years ago when I was in credit card hell--11 credit cards with $65,000 of debt. I was just keeping my head above water and managed to pay it all off in full. It would have been so much easier had I the fortune to get my hands on Michael's book.

I give "What You Can Do To Conquer Your Credit And Debt Problems" a thumbs up.
