5.0 out of 5 stars What You Didn't Think to Ask Your Obstetrician, October 21, 2000

This review is from: What You Didn't Think to Ask Your Obstetrician (Paperback)
Mom's & Dad's to be: Excellent Book.... Lot's of information that you'll never think to ask until you browse. Doc Poliakin delivered our Son, Edward in Thousand Oaks, CA. There's so many things in this book that are pratical, simple, common sense guidelines with general information to help influence confidence in parent(s) to be. Believe me, he's a down to earth doctor that speaks the truth and reflects it in his book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Step away from Google - and get this book instead!, March 12, 2010

Every pregnant woman I know, myself included, spends countless hours googling every worry, leaving themselves open to the opinions of many self-styled "experts"- usually outlining every possible horrifying outcome before listing the ever-present "ask your obgyn." Well, now you can skip right to the end! Dr. Poliakin answers all your questions with up-to-date and straightforward advice - and he makes it clear when you really need to worry. I've found it extremely helpful and comforting throughout my pregnancy. I wish I had spent all those hours I wasted on pregnancy websites before getting this book learning how to sew or practicing yoga and whatnot, but I'm glad I found it in the end.

By the way, my husband highly recommends this book for other soon-to-be dads who would like a positive and helpful way to deal with their partners' burgeoning paranoid anxiety. Happy and healthy pregnancies to all!

3.0 out of 5 stars Just OK, May 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book was ok. If you know anything at all about pregnancy, and have talked to a doctor, you already have the answers to most of these questions. Most of them had to do with what you should and shouldn't do as a pregnant woman (coloring hair, painting nails, etc.) There were a few questions in here that I hadn't thought of, but probably didn't need to know the answers to them anyway.
