5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Vivid Images!, April 14, 2009
This review is from: What I Do Best (Hardcover)
Great book for kids. 3 year old enjoys it a lot. Nice pictures, good to teach names of various objects. Great Condition. However, no jacket but, who really needs one any way.

This book is quite unique in that the children shown in the illustrations are school-aged, but the verse is very brief and straight-forward and there are simple interactive things on the pages, such as picture wheels, flip up flaps and fuzzy things to touch, which would help ADD or autistic children concentrate and connect with the lessons. The theme of the book is appreciating the value of what each of us does well, a confidence builder for everyone, but especially for special needs children.

4.0 out of 5 stars good self-esteem booster for the under-10 crowd, December 14, 2008

This rhyming story features different children and highlights what makes each child special, what each child does best. The first takes great care of her pets. The next tells funny jokes. One is a whiz at computers, one is good at sports, the triplets excel at art, there's a set-builder, a dancer, a cupcake-baker, a laundry-folder. Basically, the book highlights that everyone has something that they're particularly good at. There are flaps to lift and peek under on nearly every page.

The book features the same culturally-diverse, cute kids as are featured in What I Like About Me. I gave this book four stars instead of five because I don't think this book is quite up to the level of What I Like About Me -- but it comes in a close second. The interactive and 3D features in What I like about Me are a little more interesting -- this one is primarily lift-the-flap, and the kids aren't quite as quirky. Still, this will keep a kid interested and it sends a good message.
