About the Author

When you meet Leigh St John you understand the meaning of the word "passion" - she lives & breathes it with an enthusiasm that is contagious! Leigh is a published Author, Media Personality & MC, Speaker, Facilitator & Social Entrepreneur who, quite simply, makes things happen! "My upbringing was like many - teenage mother, father died when I was young, little if any money, years of abuse, forced out of home... & to be honest, I focused on that for many, many years (the chip on my shoulder was bigger than Mount Rushmore!). It wasn't until one particular day my outlook went from being a 'victim' to seeing that my life story could be used to "inspire" others... It was my first day working with a group of at-risk youth (who at the time were not all that much younger than me!). When I started hearing their "excuses" for why they weren't achieving in their life, a lightbulb went off inside my head. I have those 'kids' to thank for much of the success I had from that time forward." With her unique background in commercial & non-profit management, media, tertiary education & entertainment, a Client List that reads like a who's who, & her passion for making a positive difference in the world, Leigh St John brings with her an exciting blend of experience & understanding that generates results! Leigh is a member of Mensa & an accomplished entrepreneur in her own right (having created both wonderfully successful businesses & a couple of memorable failures - though thankfully more of the former than the latter). Leigh has taught for many years with one of the world's top business schools (despite never having finished high school!), has qualifications in Journalism, Non-Profit Management & Adult Education, has studied Psychology, Marketing & Communications, & is licensed with the Aust. Commission for Children & Young People. At the same time as she is following her passion & helping others to live theirs, she successfully lives with a chronic skeletal condition & auto-immune disease (& unless you have read it here or she has shared it with you, you would never know... & she also refuses to give up those spiky high heels!) & managed to beat a life-threatening illness - but as she says, she's far too stubborn for something like that to get in the way! :-) Leigh now enjoys dual residency between her native home of Australia & her adopted home of the USA, living her passion of helping people be the best they can be! 5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a way forward!, May 19, 2011
This review is from: What Do I Want To Be?: Careers Guide For High School And College Students (Paperback)
This book is terrific at cutting thru the garbage and getting to the real deal. With all the education cuts, we need to step up and support our youth and that's what the book does... The best part is that it doesn't tell kids what they could/should do, instead it gives them the right questions to come up with their own right answers. What a gift! What Do I Want To Be?: Careers Guide For High School And College Students

5.0 out of 5 stars Challenge for all of us - young and not so young!, May 22, 2011
This review is from: What Do I Want To Be?: Careers Guide For High School And College Students (Paperback)
This talented author and life coach has put a challenge out there for our youth as well as those of us facing life changes: Can we truly take a trip through this amazing book to help ourselves look in the mirror and find the real passion for our lives? For those young enough, take a leap of faith, work the career guidance program with honesty and desire for results with the blessings of time to implement the results. For those in career crisis or life change due to the economy or other obstacles, WOW what an eye opener. You need to make the time to have the results impact your day to day life.

Ms. St John takes a rather complex set of information and brings it deeper into your soul than you ever wanted to be. This is the time, this is the place to challenge only you, to find what tomorrow could be.

On the surface its thoughtful, expressive, well organized and enjoyable. Take the time to go deeper and follow the plan, step by step. Read carefully, its not light reading. Read and re-read in order to get the full meaning of each quote. Take your time, take 30 days to really let it sink in.

I was so inspired, I thought about my own passions for writing and mentoring. Thank you Leigh for this gift to our children and ourselves.
