An impowering tale of wit and determination about a very fearless little girl that takes charge of a number of animals that are attempting to take over her things. You will be delighted to find out how it all works out in the end. One I've read to all 9 of my own children

This was the longest book my two-year-old would sit through... again and again and again. She loved acting the part of the little heroine and readily recited "you throw him out!" with much enthusiasm. The drawings are entertaining and the end is lovely. I would whole-heartedly recommend this darling story.

It's a cute book about a bunch of entitled animals moving into your house, demanding obscure things,
and then refusing to leave... all culminating with the heroine of the story giving in, and letting them stay.

I don't get it. I think it's a bad message. Unless you're a squatter....

I remember this book from when I was little. I now work in a library (in the kids section) and decided to do it for one of my 3-5 yr/old storytimes and they loved it! They usually don't care for books that are this lengthy but they kept up and loved this one. After the storytime everyone wanted to check it out but sadly we only had one copy. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good book to read to their child or class. It's great fun!

This book is on the Kumon required reading list. Wonderful illustrations, amusing, and easy to read. You and your child will laugh.

I remember reading this book as a kid and it is still just as enjoyable to read it to my son! The illustrations are wonderful.

Super fun story with wonderful pictures. My grandaughter loves to hear it over and over again! Mercer Mayer at his very best!

This book is sooo cute! My daughter and son received it as a hand-me-down and love it. We since have purchased it as gifts because any kid that comes over and reads it, loves it! So funny and entertaining. A must read!

My daughters are 27 and 19 and they both LOVED this book when they were little. Couldn't believe I found another copy!

This book has amazing artwork and a fun story, and not for toddlers who have no patience. But I had it when I ran a daycare 20 years ago, and the children loved sitting there talking about the pictures, finding the cat on every page, watching the animals do odd things. Very good book. I have it for when my granddaughter gets past the hurry up and read it and where are the tabs stage.
